Markley & Blythe
Engraving-style illustrations created for Markley & Blythe, a restaurant located in the Historic Park Inn (designed by the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright). Named after the two lawyers that commissioned the building in 1909, the portraits I created of M&B feature sharp, masculine lines with a limited black & white palette. It was a fun challenge to utilize linework and negative space for emphasis rather than color, which is what I’m used to. Unused concepts include a lawyer cow, vintage cash register & ear of corn.
All branding and creative direction was done by Paloma Schultz at Nightly Bats.
“Callie has been a delight to work with. Not only is she quick, but she does great work. Her illustrations have helped add the finishing touches on several brands/designs for my clients. Looking forward to when we can work together again.”
